Keuring is FHANA/KFPS sponsored but hosted by Michigan Friesian Horse Club.
Thursday February 10 (IBOPS in the morning, Stallions in the afternoon followed by some mares)
Friday February 11 (remaining mares).
Wednesday afternoon: Category 20
12:00 – 3:00 driving IBOP’s
3:00 – 3:15 break
3:15 – 5:00 riding IBOP’s
5:00 – 6:00 championships awarded for IBOP’s
6:00 dinner option for participants at the Blue Gate Restaurant (must be seated by 7 pm). Please note that the Blue Gate Restaurant is at a different location than the Blue Gate Garden Inn.
Thursday:
7:45 – 9:00 am measuring of adult horses by their stalls – please have your horse(s) ready by their stall with their halter number! We basically have 1 ½ minutes per horse to get this all done. Your horse MUST be measured before it can enter the in-hand class.
9:00 – 12:00 class 17 (stallions for star) *please note; if your stallion gets invited for a 2nd look, that will take place on Friday. Older stallions asked back may need to be shown under saddle on Friday.
12:00 – 12:30 class 15 (yearling colts) followed by championships for colts
12:30 – 1:30 lunch break
1:30 – 2:30 class 12 (geldings) They will enter the arena together 1st as a group. Followed by championships for geldings
2:30 – 7:00 classes 5 and 6 (studbook mares that need linear scores) They will be divided into groups and will enter in a group first. Mares selected for championship class will be shown again on Friday.
7:30 Banquet on site
Friday:
8:00 – 8:30 am measure horses if necessary (please be ready with your halter number) by your stall
8:30 – 9:00 class 3 & 4 (yearling and 2 year old mares) followed by youth championship
9:00 – 11:00 classes 7, 8, 9 & 10 (repeat for star, 4-6 yr star, 7+ star and crown mares)
These may have to first enter in by group. Some may be invited to another class to possibly upgrade.
11:00 – 11:45 championships for mares from Thursday and Friday
11:45 National Anthems of the USA, Canada and the Netherlands if time allows
12:00 - 12:45 approved KFPS Studbook Stallions
12:45 second look at stallions if invited (may be shown free in arena, in hand on hard surface or under saddle if older)
1:00 (or when finished) Lunch break
2:00 – 3:30 Sale preview of auction horses (KFPS horses and Friesian cross riding horses) in main arena
3:30 – 4:45 Jenny Veenstra clinic in main arena and Demo by auction sponsors as time allows (approved stallions)
5:00 – 8:00 Michiana Friesian Sale begins
· Bidding on KFPS studbook stallion service fees (proceeds go to KFPS keuring costs & breed promotion)
· Auction of KFPS registered Friesians
· Auction of Friesian cross riding horses
· Stallion presentation featuring purebred (not studbook) and crossbred stallions
